Polarr Inc.

Social Strategist • Content Creator • Designer

At Polarr, I wore many creative hats, leading content strategy, managing a vibrant community of creators, and producing visuals and writing that showcased the brand’s personality across platforms. I developed and executed social media content for Instagram, TikTok, and Discord, growing Polarr’s following from 6K to 700K+ with a mix of educational, entertaining, and creator-driven content.

I also designed and wrote App Store content, making sure each launch felt visually polished and on-brand. One of my favorite ongoing projects was the Creator Spotlight Blog, a series of interviews and editorial-style pieces that celebrated artists using Polarr, and brought our community stories to life in a human, design-forward way.

Every project, from launching a new app to publishing a social series, blended strategy with style, and always centered the creator.

Polarr – Creator Experience & Payout Program

Brand & Marketing • Strategy Community Engagement • Product Design Support

The Challenge
Polarr wanted to strengthen its creator community and give users more reasons to engage with filters beyond one-time use. The goal was to create a consistent, community-driven feature that highlighted creators, encouraged filter adoption, and gave back to those driving growth.

The Process

  • Prototyping & Testing: Partnered with product to design an in-app creator showcase. I coordinated TestFlight user testing, gathering early feedback on design, function, and feel directly from creators.

  • Community Touchpoints: Met creators where they were—on Instagram, TikTok, and Discord—to validate ideas and build anticipation. Regular calls with photographers, videographers, and “fandom” creators shaped the experience.

  • Launch & Promotion: Rolled out a weekly in-app spotlight featuring a creator and their filters. Promoted across in-app banners, IG, TT, and Discord, creating consistent visibility and momentum.

The Results

  • Adoption Growth: Filter usage spiked significantly post-launch, with creators gaining traction not only in the app but across their personal digital platforms.

  • Community Expansion: Creator participation grew rapidly, spanning fandom communities, photographers, and videographers.

  • Scaling into Payout Program: Built on this success by helping launch a creator payout system based on filter scan counts.

    • Developed FAQs, applications, and Zendesk resources to streamline onboarding.

    • Introduced weekly filter contests with 5–10 winners, permanently featured in-app.

Impact

  • Drove consistent weekly engagement in-app.

  • Created a feedback loop: filter use → creator growth → more creators joining → stronger community.

  • Established a sustainable monetization and recognition system that rewarded creators for their contributions and increased loyalty.
